Huge Painting Elegant Salon with Mother and Daughter, Luigi Paolillo 1933

A magnificent and highly decorative double portrait set in a luxurious Italian salon. A young woman in a shimmering pink satin dress stands next to an elegant older lady who sits in a blue armchair and wears a dark dress with a luxurious fur stole. The interior is adorned with a crystal chandelier, marble columns, heavy blue drapery and rich architectural details.

Typical of Paolillo's mature style with masterful lighting effects on fabrics and deep perspective. An unusually large salon painting from his late period (one year before the artist's death).
